ZELDA F. CHAVEZ, 90, of San Miguel (La Mesa) passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at her home. She was born in Non, Oklahoma (raised in Hatch) to Elmo and Lorene Taylor. Zelda enjoyed all her children and accomplished numerous tasks in life. She was a faithful member of the Baptist Community.

Survivors include 4 sons, Terry Chavez (Virginia) of Hatch, David Chavez (Maria) of Pensacola, FL; Robert Chavez, (Lorie) of Phoenix, AZ, and Dwayn Chavez (Norma) of El Paso, TX; her daughter and caregiver, Brenda Schneider (Karl) of San Miguel; sister-in-law, Betty Chavez of El Paso, TX.  Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Procopio "PoPo" Chavez; 2 sons, Charles, and Dennis Chavez.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10 AM Friday, October 18, 2024, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 101 Apajo Way, in Hatch where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband and parents in the family plot.
