It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, VIVIANA G. MARTINEZ, on March 7, 2025, at her home in Radium Springs, NM. Viviana went to the Lord surrounded by her loved ones who spent all day with her, sharing memories, hugs, and kisses. Viviana was the devoted wife of almost 70 years to Servando S. Martinez, a loving mother to Raul (Sue), Ramona (Ebrahim), Ernesto (Helen), Alejandro (Maria Soledad), Mariano, and Eduwiges (Mauro). Viviana was the adored grandmother of Karim, Jason, Afsheen, Joey, René, Jennifer, Armin, Celeste, Ian, Melissa, Noel, Aaron, Mauro, Santana, Analyssa, and Rowan. She was proud to be the great grandmother of 24 children.

Viviana was born in Colonia Reforma, Districto Bravo, Chihuahua, Mexico on May 5, 1929, to Catarino and Santos Gomez and was the big sister to Catarino, Jr, and baby Antonio. Viviana was a hardworking woman who grew up working on her family's farm from a young age. The weekends were looked forward to because of Saturday dances which were held in the surrounding towns. It was at one of these dances that she met Servando, the love of her life, in 1952. After a 3-year courtship, they married on May 28, 1955. The family moved to the Mesilla, NM area in 1961 when Servando was hired to work on the Jimmy Harris farm. Viviana dedicated her life to raising her family and would work in the fields picking chile, onions, or cotton to help with the costs of raising 6 children. She also worked for a time with the Lowry family. Viviana was famous for her delicious flour tortillas and green chile queso which are still talked about to this day. Viviana's Catholic faith was very important to her, and it gave her great comfort throughout her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Servando, 6 children, 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren. Viviana was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers.

Visitation for Mrs. Martinez will begin at 9 AM Monday, March 17, 2025, at Our Lady of Health Catholic Church, 1178 N. Mesquite Street with the Prayer Vigil at 10 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter with The Reverend Ruben Romero, Celebrant. At her request cremation will follow and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons, Joey, Afsheen, Ian, Alejandro René, Aaron, and Santana. Honorary bearers are grandsons, Jason, Armin, Noel Andrés, and Mauro.
