VIRGINIA GARCIA BUSTAMANTE, 80, of Rodey, New Mexico entered eternal life on Friday, October 9, 2026, at University Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born May 24, 1946, in Rincon, New Mexico, to Rosa Roybal and Pablo Garcia, Virginia grew up rooted in faith, family, and the traditions of her community. A devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church, she lived her life with a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and unwavering devotion to those she loved.
Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, sister, aunt, and dear friend. Her skills as a homemaker were a true gift—she made everyone feel welcomed, cared for, and deeply loved. Her warm, tender presence was felt in every meal she prepared, every gathering she hosted, and every moment she shared with her family.
She leaves behind her beloved children: sons Concepcion Bustamante Jr. (Sanjuanita) of Radium Springs, and Tony Bustamante (Yvonne) of Eugene, Oregon; and daughters Rosemary Lucero (Gilbert) of Doña Ana, Sandra Valdez of Radium Springs, Monica Bustamante (Jeffrey) of Truth or Consequences, and Alicia Grado (Andres) of Hatch.
Virginia is also survived by her brothers Louis Garcia (Theresa) of Albuquerque and Samuel Garcia (Tarsela) of Corrales; and her sisters Beatrice Allen (Walker), Elsie Bustillos, and Julia Rivera, all of Albuquerque.
The pride and joy of her life were her 12 grandchildren and 15 great‑grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her kindness, humor, and the comfort she brought to every family gathering.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Concepcion V. Bustamante; her brothers Frank and Herman Garcia; her sister Lucy Baca; her son‑in‑law Sammy Valdez; and other beloved family members.
Virginia will be remembered for her devotion to family, her faith, and the gentle way she cared for everyone around her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she loved so dearly.
Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10 AM Monday, October 19, 2026, at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, 120 Hartman Street in Hatch. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter.
