VICTORIA ADELA McFARLAND, 19, and LUCAS ALLAN MILLER, 17, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2024. Victoria was born June 25, 2005, in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. Lucas was born July 12, 2006, in Las Cruces, NM.

From the minute their eyes met, they were inseparable. Whether they were acting and singing together or playing games with friends, everyone will always remember them being side by side. They attended each other events and were both incredibly supportive of one another.  They both graduated from Las Cruces High School, where they were very active in theater, choir, and band.

Victoria was a sophomore at NMSU, and Lucas was starting there in August with a full scholarship. Both of them looked forward to continuing their education together.

Victoria is survived by her mother, Adela D. Huerta (Isaac) of Las Cruces; father, David C. McFarland (Jen) of Ohio; 2 brothers, Alexander L. Huerta of Las Cruces, and Cooper D. McFarland of Ohio; 2 sisters, Isabella K. Huerta of Las Cruces, and Reagan E. McFarland of Ohio; maternal grandfather, Estevan Aragon; paternal grandmother, Jo Ann McFarland and grandmother, Rebecca Huerta; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Victoria was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Felicitas R. Aragon; maternal great-grandmother, Adelaida Aragon; paternal grandfather, Dave McFarland; and grandfather, Efren Huerta.

Lucas is survived by his mother, Sommer Mitchell (Colin Lewis); father, Albert Miller; 2 brothers, Layne Miller, and Owen Lewis; maternal grandmother, Patty Sartin (Jay Sartin), all of Las Cruces; as well as his aunts and uncles and cousins. Lucas was preceded in death by his uncle Reese Mitchell; his maternal grandfather, Jack Mitchell; maternal great-grandmother and great-grandfather Betty and Pat Owen, as well as his paternal grandmother, Noel, and grandfather Albert Miller.

A Memorial Mass for Victoria will be celebrated at 10 AM Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, 1240 S. Espina Street, Las Cruces, NM.

The Celebration of Life memorial for Lucas and Vicki will begin at 1 PM at the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Spring Road, Las Cruces, NM.
