Vernon A. Inabnitt passed away peacefully at 7:40 a.m. on October 8, 2025, at his home in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He was 81.

Born to Chester and Norma Inabnitt (both deceased), Vernon was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sue Daniel, and his son, Chester Inabnitt. He is survived by his loving and devoted siblings, Linda Miracle, Iva Shockley, and Gay Inabnitt as well as his sister-in-law and dear friend, Connie Daniel, with whom he shared many cherished memories.

Vernon was a proud Dallas Cowboys fan who loved everything country western. He spent many weekends out on the lake riding his jet ski, where he was happiest.

He spent the last decade and ultimately his final moments with his loyal friend, Teresa Sweet, and her family, whom he loved as his own: her daughter Crystal, son-in-law Dylan, and grandchildren Madilyn, Presley, and Havannah, of whom he was extremely proud of.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, Vernon served three tours in Vietnam. His unwavering patriotism was reflected in his words: "I would do it all over again if my country needed me." He will be laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Bliss National Cemetery in Texas.

Vernon will be remembered for his courage, loyalty, and generous heart, a tue patriot devoted to his family, his country, and the love he shared with those closest to him.

A graveside will be held on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 2:30pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard.
