Our beloved mother, companion, sister, grandmother, aunt and dear friend, VELIA MALDONADO LUJAN, age 69, of Hatch entered eternal life on Friday, May 9, 2025. She was born November 10, 1955, in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico to Francisca Lujan and Rogelio Chavez Maldonado. Velia was a loving elementary school teacher and a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church. She will be deeply missed by all.

Those left to mourn her passing include her loving children, Reynaldo Munoz (Tara), Sergio Munoz, and Daniel Munoz (Keely) and daughter, Jennifer Munoz all from Las Cruces; her loving companion of over 36 years, Jesus Mesta Munoz; 5 brothers, Armando Maldonado and  Lorenzo Maldonado of Vado, Oscar Maldonado (Angela) of Prescott, AZ., Rogelio Maldonado (Rosa) of Anthony, NM., and Ruben Marcos Maldonado of Thornton, CO., four sisters, Romelia Lujan and Gracie Whitlock all from Hatch, Adela Kelley (Spike) of Augusta, GA.,  and Rosa Elva McNeill (Donte) of Chandler, AZ. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Olivia Maldonado and 2 brothers-in-law, Javier Lujan and James Whitlock.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Friday, May 16, 2025, at Our Lady of all Nations Catholic Church, 1993 Rincon Road in Rincon with The Reverend Ivan Torres, Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.

Serving as casket bearers will be Sergio, Daniel and Aaron Munoz, Roy and Oscar Maldonado, and Joey Banegas.
