It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dad, TOMAS R. NAÑEZ SR. from Del Cerro in the early morning hours of December 7, 2024, at home with his loved ones and in the same breath he began his eternal life in heaven as promised by our Lord Jesus Christ.
Dad was born December 21, 1939, in Villalopez, Chihuahua, Mexico to Jesus and Teresa Nanez. He was the 3 of 12 kids.
Dad was a very curious young boy and at the age of 18 he ventured into the United States. He worked in the fields and in construction and on August 11, 1963, he went to Cd. Jimenez, Chihuahua, Mexico, to marry the twinkle in his eye Maximina Galvan and together they finally settled in Del Cerro to raise their family. They are the proud parents of Tomas Jr., Dolores, Sergio, Teresa, and Jorge. Dad worked about 25 years at BJZ Dairy milking cows and eventually retired. This is how he provided for his family.
Dad is survived by his loving wife, Maximina and his kids, Tomas Jr., Lola, Sergio, Terry and Jorge and their respected spouses. 8 grand-children and 1 great grand-daughter; 2 brothers, Porfirio Nanez Sr., Jose Nanez, and sister-in-law, Reyna; 4 sisters, Antonia, Virginia, Carmen and Elizabeth, and numerous nephews, nieces, and God children. Dad was preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers Jesus, Guadalupe, Ramon, Rafael, and Refugio; his in-laws, Rafael, and Natalia Galvan which he loved very dearly, and his brother-in-law, (like his brother) Juan Manuel Galvan and his wife, Teresa Galvan.
Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and medical providers that gave us all this year to create so many memories. Dad will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Antonio Aguilar was his favorite actor and singer. We love you Dad and you will live in our hearts forever. Dad loved life so much, but he knew it was time to move on to his forever home. Rest in Peace Dad.
