Terry P. Gutierrez, age 74, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully at her home in Mesilla Park, NM on May 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Terry was born on June 19, 1951, in Reedley, CA to Gilbert and Juanita Granados and made her home in Mesilla Park, where she lived for most of her life. She exemplified the values of hard work, dedication, faith, and devotion to family. Her strength of character, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those she loved earned her the respect and admiration of all who knew her. Terry found great joy in spending time with family and friends and treasured opportunities to travel and visit her children and grandchildren. Her life was centered on the relationships she cultivated and the care she extended to others.
Terry spent 10 years of her early career at the Albuquerque Data Operations Center (ADOC) with the Social Security Administration. She later transitioned to the White Sands Missile Range, dedicating 15 years to various government contractors and rising through the ranks from data entry operator to supervisor. For the past 21 years, she worked alongside Alfred as an entrepreneur with Legal Shield.
Terry was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Juanita Granados, and her younger brother, Alfredo "Pepe" Granados.
She is survived by her beloved husband Alfred Gutierrez in 54 years of marriage, with whom she shared a lifelong partnership founded on love, friendship, mutual respect, and enduring devotion. Together they built a family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Terry is also survived by her children and their spouses: Edward Gutierrez and Helen; Renee Lucero and Louie; and Erik Gutierrez and Lacy. She leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren: Isaiah Gutierrez, Andrue Gutierrez, Aiden Balderamma, Gabriel Gutierrez, Karly Gutierrez, Nadia Gutierrez, and Mason Gutierrez. She is further survived by numerous extended family members, dear friends, and loved ones whose lives were enriched by her kindness, guidance, and enduring presence.
Terry will be remembered for her generous heart, deep love for family, steadfast devotion to God, and the countless ways she touched the lives of those around her. She always made sure those she loved were cared for and had what they needed. Her legacy of faith, compassion, and family values will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.
Although Terry's earthly journey has come to an end, her family and loved ones find comfort in their faith and in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, rejoicing in the knowledge that she now rests in the everlasting peace of the Lord's presence.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 30th at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 4201 N Sonoma Ranch Blvd, Las Cruces, NM 88001.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 30th, at 3:30 p.m. at the VFW, 2001 N Mesquite St, Las Cruces, NM 88001.
