On October 17, 2024, Terry Bustamante Armijo, 65, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones at her home in her hometown of Las Cruces New Mexico.

Terry Bustamante Armijo was born on June 10, 1959, in Hatch, New Mexico to Juan and Trinidad Bustamante. Terry "MIMA" was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend whose light, will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew her. "MIMA," as everyone respectfully called her was no stranger to having fun as her love for music and dancing played a big part in who she was. When Mima walked into a room it was filled with smiles and happiness all around. She was an incredibly special person. She could make friends everywhere she went. One of her passions was cooking for her family, which if you asked anyone what their favorite item on her menu was, they would all tell you how much they loved her tortillas, for which she was famously known. We are thankful to say that she loved to crochet, and she made sure to make almost all of her family members a blanket that we can hold on to as a reminder of the love she had for us. To say the least she was the foundation to her family that will forever be missed but never forgotten, "because an elephant never forgets" WE LOVE YOU MIMA!

She is survived by her daughters, Renee Medina (Stephen) of Las Cruces, NM, Melissa Sprague (ED) of Phoenix AZ, Bonnie Armijo (Chase) and Jennie Armijo all from Las Cruces NM. Her grandchildren Angelica Valles (Dylan) of Austin TX, Andrew Medina (Nicole), Michael Medina, Guillermo Munoz-Cruz, Makayla Zavala, Alexia Avila, Damian Avila, Andre Cordova, and Amelia Holguin all from Las Cruces NM. Christopher Guerra (Nailea), Ethen Guerra and Kashmir Guerra all of Phoenix AZ. One great granddaughter Blake Valles of Austin TX. Her brothers Gabe, Napo, Juan, Paul, Nick and Robert Bustamante. Her sisters Jennie Padilla, Betty Sanchez, and Tina Garland and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Trinidad Bustamante. Brothers Chon, Manuel, Ventura Bustamante and sisters Ophelia Bustamante, Leola Gardner, Magdalena Armijo.

Services to be held as follows.

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, starting at 6pm at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church, 117 Hartman Street, Hatch, NM. A prayer vigil will follow at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11am at Our Lady of Mercy. Cremation will follow services.
