With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sylvia Estrada, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, who was called home to the Lord from Alamogordo, NM. Born in 1957, Sylvia lived a life filled with faith, love, and unwavering devotion to her family and her Savior.

A lifelong devout Catholic, Sylvia's love for the Lord was manifested in all that she did and in everyone she encountered. She was deeply devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary, after whom she modeled her own fiat—accepting with grace the blessings and trials that God granted her throughout her life. As a devoted wife and mother, she worked intentionally to reflect the love of Christ and the Holy Saints to her family and to all who knew her. Her great faith was evident in her beautiful smile, her infectious laughter, and her joyful spirit, which could lift the hearts of all around her.

Sylvia's laughter was unmistakable and contagious. She had a gift for bringing joy and warmth to every gathering and filling each celebration with beautiful qualities and cherished traditions. Her ability to write a heartfelt letter or card was a testament to the depth of her love and thoughtfulness, often moving the reader to tears.

For 43 wonderful years, Sylvia was the cherished wife of Saul Estrada, with whom she built a home rich in faith, warmth, and love. Together, they raised four children, who were the greatest treasures of her life: Richard (wife Cindy) Estrada of Rio Rancho, NM; Rachel (husband Jonathan) Wilson of Alamogordo, NM; Rebecca (husband Justin) Whitefield of Dona Ana, NM; and Thomas Estrada of Alamogordo, NM. Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren, whom she adored.

Sylvia was also a devoted daughter who lovingly helped to care for her parents, Ramon and Jesusita Clark of Hatch, NM, in their final days. Her selfless care and compassion were an extension of her boundless love and faith. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her precious granddaughter, Mikayla Whitefield. Sylvia is survived by her husband and children, seven grandchildren, brother Tony (Reina) Clark of Hatch, NM; sister Senaida (Ray) Lara of San Tan Valley, AZ; brother Ramon (Barbara) Clark of Owasso, OK; sister Eva (Danny) Gonzalez of Garfield, NM, and many nieces and nephews.

Though her time on earth has ended, her faith assures us that she is now reunited with those who preceded her in the eternal embrace of our Lord. She will be missed terribly, but we take solace in the promise that we will one day meet her again and feel the warmth of her loving embrace.

A service to celebrate Sylvia's life and faith will be held at Our Lord of Mercy Catholic Church in Hatch, NM on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM, Recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 AM, Funeral Mass commencing at 10:30 AM. Inurnment and Rite of Committal will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Hatch, NM. May she rest in eternal peace, basking in the glory of the Lord she so faithfully served.
