Susie Acosta Caro, 95, of Las Cruces, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026. Born March 12, 1931, in Bent, New Mexico, to Librada and Toribio Acosta, Susie lived a life rooted in devotion, faith, and family.

She was a dedicated homemaker, pouring her love and energy into raising her four children and supporting her husband, David Caro Sr. Susie’s quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering care shaped the foundation of her family and the many lives she touched.

Susie is survived by her children Yolanda Lopez, David Caro Jr., Ruben Caro, her brother Felix Acosta; sister Emma Guaderrama. She also leaves behind beloved grandchildren Manuel Lopez Jr, Javier Lopez, Lee Ruiz, Krystal Caro Ruiz, Sabrina Ruiz, Christopher Caro, Celina Hart, Ruben Caro Jr, Richard Caro, Rosemarie Holguin, 16 great grand-children Neveah Bustillos , Riley Garcia, Lazarus Lopez, Javier Lopez Jr, Wyatt Lopez, Elina Lopez, Lilyana Caro, Xavier Caro, Cameron Hart, Tyler Hart, Nicholas Caro, Sofia Caro, Emily Caro, Derek Caro Laryssa Aldaz, Sanai Maestas who will carry forward her memory with love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David Caro Sr., her daughter Becky Caro Ruiz, sister Margarita Hernandez and brother Isidro Acosta.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday September 25, 2026 at 01:30 P.M. at the Basilica of San Albino, 2070 Calle de Santiago. Inurnment and the Rite of Committal will conclude at the San Albino Cemetery, 2965 Calle de Guadalupe.

Susie will be remembered for her warmth, her steadfast devotion to her family, and the gentle grace with which she lived her life, along with daily blessings to all including strangers “ vaya con dios “ Was a lifelong parishioner of the Basilica of San Albino .
