SUSAN CAROLINE M. GRIGALIUNAS

One of the best things that ever happened to me was Susan. Susan became my wife in 1965 and changed her last name from Meyer to Grigaliunas. She passed away January 25, 2025, two days before my birthday. Sue was lovely and smart, a beautiful person. She loved the theater and studied at the Pasadena Theater School in California. Her roommate was Shirley Knight who went on to fame and fortune in Hollywood. When she turned 85, she said she was going to go "home" to Grand Rapids, Michigan to be with her sister Donna and her parents. I am sure she is home now, but I am sad a lot and cry once in a while because I miss her. She passed away at La Posada- Mesilla Valley Hospice where she was carried for by a wonderfully gentle and caring nursing staff.

Sue and I adopted three babies: Jill, five weeks old, and later twins, five months old, Andrew and Allison. It was a real-life adventure, and, when they were older, we exchanged homes for a summer with a family from England.  Another time, we did the same thing, house sitting for friends in England. We drove all over England from the small town of "Lands' End" to Scotland. We also took the ferry to France and on to Paris where the kids could go up the Eiffel Tower. Sue and I had gone to Paris earlier in 1968. Sue loved to travel, and in our sixty years of marriage, we traveled to 42 countries. We traveled most of Europe, China, Indonesia, the Middle East, South America, and Mexico. Our last trip was to Viet Nam, from Hanoi to the Delta. Many people will miss her, especially her family and friends. "Bon Voyage" Susan, have a wonderful trip. A trip "Home."

Sue will continue to be loved by her husband, Bill Grigaliunas; her daughter, Allison Reuter; her sons-in-law, Ralph Carle, and Greg Reuter; and her grandkids, Brendan and Madelyn Reuter and Gabby Carle.

A celebration of Sue's life will be held at the chapel in La Posada-Mesilla Valley Hospice, 299 Montana Ave, Las Cruces, NM 88005, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 2 PM

Flowers may be sent to La Posada or, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mesilla Valley Hospice in honor of Susan.
