It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of STEVEN ANTHONY MARQUEZ, of Las Cruces on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at the age of 52. He was born July 31, 1972, in Whitter, California to Ermalinda Perez and Ronald Marquez. Steven was employed at Sam's in the meat cutting department and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Those left to mourn his passing include 3 sons, Jermery Kiefer of Washington, Jebediah Burton-Marquez, and Jude Burton-Marquez from Las Cruces; his companion, Kathy Starr; his parents, Ronald, and Linda Marquez all from Las Cruces; sister, Teresa Marquez-Ayala, (Manuel) of California; niece, Nicolette Ayala (Neil Orense); nephew, Anthony Ayala and 2 great-nephews, AJ Martinez and Jaxson Orense. Steven was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Manuel, and Hattie Marquez, maternal grandparents, Cruz, and Carmen Perez.

At his request cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10 AM Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road with the Funeral Liturgy to follow immediately thereafter. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date
