Shirley Stotz, beloved mother, grandmother, and longtime resident of Mesilla, New Mexico, passed away on April 7, 2026. She was born June 8, 1935, in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania to parents Harry and Mary Bishop. Shirley was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and steady presence in the lives of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Stotz. Shirley is survived by her children John Stotz (Carol) and Beverly Stotz; grandchildren Kimberly Corcoran (John Padilla), Andrew Stotz (Kristen), Laura Roznovsky (Gary), Emma Stotz (Jack Krause), and JD Stotz; and great-grandchildren Hank Roznovsky, Emmitt Roznovsky, and Charlie Stotz. She will always be remembered as a devoted matriarch who cherished her family.

An active and curious person, Shirley loved golf, travel, reading, knitting, and tending her garden. She was thrilled when she shot a hole in one on the 11th hole at the NMSU golf course in November 2012. She served her community by volunteering at Peace Lutheran Church, knitting baby caps for Memorial Medical Center and volunteering with Border Servant Corps. Her travels took her to many countries around the world and gave her stories she delighted in retelling to family and friends.

The family extends its deepest gratitude to each staff member of Comfort Keepers and Sierra Home Care and Hospice for their loving care.
