It is with deep sadness that the family of Shirley Maese Lucero announces her passing on February 13, 2026.
Shirley lived a happy, quiet, and fulfilling life, finding her greatest joy in the company of her beloved nieces and nephews. She dedicated many years of service as an Administrative Specialist at White Sands Missile Range, where she was known for her diligence, kindness, and steady presence. Outside of work, she loved to travel and embraced every opportunity to explore new places and experiences.
Shirley is survived by her loving sisters Tommie Maese, Wilma Maese, and Diana M. Gomez. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray H. Lucero; her parents Cipriano and Delphina Maese; her sisters Ellie M. Duran and Emma Jean Maese; and her brother Oscar Edmund Maese.
A prayer vigil will be held on Monday March 9, 2026 at the Basilica of San Albino, 2070 Calle de Santiago. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 11:00 A.M. followed by the Celebration of the Mass at 11:30 A.M. Inurnment and the Rite of Committal will conclude at San Albino Cemetery in Mesilla.
Pall bearers include Izayah Zamora, Cipriano Gomez, Bret Kowalski, Joseph Montoya, Brandon "Bear" Chavez and Jonah Lucero.
Honorary Bearers include Raymond Montoya, Brandon Chavez, Raul "Rolo" Minjarez and Ray Lucero Jr.
