SERGIO MENDEZ ENRIQUEZ, age 78, of Las Cruces, entered eternal life on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 3, 1947, in El Paso, Texas, to Velia Mendez and Martin Enriquez.

Sergio worked for many years at White Sands Missile Range in the maintenance department, where he was known for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic until his retirement. He was a proud member of the Catholic Church and lived his faith quietly through kindness, humility, and devotion to his family.

In 1985, Sergio married the love of his life, Mary Rosales, and together they shared more than four decades of beautiful memories, laughter, and unwavering companionship.

Those left to mourn his passing include his wife, Mary; three sons, Victor Enriquez, Hector Enriquez, and Mike Rosales (Annette Granado), all from Las Cruces; four daughters, twins Diana and Susan Enriquez of Las Cruces, and Jessica Enriquez Smith (Randy) of El Paso, TX., and Michelle Enriquez (Sergio Rubalcaba) also of Las Cruces; two brothers, Martin and Jose Luis Enriquez (Hilda) all from La Union;  as well as his cherished 14 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by extended family members, dear friends, and all who were blessed to know him. Sergio was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Mary Jane Enriquez; and other loved ones who now welcome him into eternal rest.

A man of quiet strength, gentle humor, and deep love for his family, Sergio will be remembered for the warmth he shared, the wisdom he offered, and the legacy of love he leaves behind.

The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Thursday, April 23, 2026, at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, 5525 Cristo Rey in Doña Ana. Inurnment of cremains will follow at the Doña Ana Cemetery.
