IN LOVING MEMORY OF SANTOS V. NUNEZ

November 1, 1949 - January 11, 2025

Santos Vega Nunez - Cherished Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather and friend to many - entered into eternal rest on January 11, 2025 surrounded by family.

Santos was born in Lordsburg, New Mexico on November 1, 1949 to Herminia V. Madrid and Stepfather Mateo Madrid Sr.

Santos was a 1969 graduate of New Mexico School for the Visually Handicapped.  Where he was the second State Wrestling Champion in the history of the school.  His passion for computers resulted in degrees from New Mexico State University Computer Science.  Santos married Maria Villalobos Nunez and together they raised two daughters Angelina and Veronica with unconditional love, compassionate understanding and support.

Santos is survived by his daughters Angelina Nunez Pierce (Franklin Pierce); Veronica L. Nunez.  His grandchildren Jazmine M. Nunez; Raquel R. Pierce; Marisa I. Pierce; Samuel Nunez Pierce.  His siblings Lydia Hanson; Ramona Moke; Terry Cook (Gary Cook); Mateo (Jungo) Madrid Jr.  As well as many nieces and nephews.

Santos was preceded in death by his mother Herminia V Madrid, stepfather Mateo Madrid Sr. and wife Maria Villalobos Nunez.

Memorial services for Santos V. Nunez will be held on February 3, 2025 at Baca's funeral chapel, 300 E Boutz Rd Las Cruces, NM 88005.  Rosary will begin at 2:00 pm with the liturgy to follow.

Santos V. Nunez lives on in the hearts and minds of his loving family and friends.
