Rosemary Parra, age 79, was born November 10th, 1943, in Deming New Mexico to Elvira and Manuel Parra. She was one of seven daughters and one son. Her love for others started at an early age when she worked at the Auburn Rubber Factory in Deming, NM to help buy Christmas gifts for her family. In the early seventies, Rosemary moved to Albuquerque to pursue her degree in behavioral health at the University of New Mexico. After completing her degree, she began working at the Behavioral Health Hospital in Albuquerque, specializing in children's behavioral health.

After giving birth to her only daughter, Dianna, Rosemary moved from Albuquerque to Las Cruces where she began working for the Department of Social Services. After retiring from the State of New Mexico, she was gifted with the arrival of her first grandson, Anthony, then a second grandson, Alexander, and finally a granddaughter, Serena. She took great care and pride in raising her grandchildren and watching them grow into responsible and fine individuals.

Rosemary was a devout Catholic and active member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral where she was regularly active in the prayer community along with her sister in Christ, Sister Rita. She loved her church family as she did her own. The love for her own family was of significant importance as well, where she instilled good values in her daughter and grandchildren that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Rosemary was greeted in heaven by her parents and five sisters; Mary Lou Maynes, Jean Armendariz, Josephine Marrufo, Alice Dominguez, Toni Pierse and brother Manuel Parra, Jr. Angelina Knox, a granddaughter, also preceded her death.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Dianna Parra, grandsons Anthony and Alexander Parra, Santino Tso, granddaughter Serena Carrizosa, her great granddaughter Mia Hernandez, her sister Patricia Parra-Brown, and her faithful canine companion, Precious.

A prayer vigil will be held on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 11:30 A.M. The Holy Rosary will begin at 12:30 P.M. and the Funeral Liturgy will begin at 01:00 P.M. At Rosemary's request cremation will follow and her cremains will be placed next to her parents at Mountainview Cemetery in Deming at a later date.
