Ronald Dale Kuenzli, an engineer and lifelong explorer and outdoor enthusiast, died unexpectedly on September 27, 2023, while at his dream rammed earth home at the base of the Organ Mountains in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Ron is predeceased by his parents, Dale and Mary Ellen Kuenzli and his wife of 30 years, Anne (Abdoo) Kuenzli. On the Buckeyes fan side, Ron is survived by his sister Lou Ann (Jerry) Murphy and their daughter Mary Ann (Justin) Tucker and their children: William, Madeline and Ella. On the Notre Dame fan side, he is also survived by his sister-in-law Terry (John) Abdoo King: Kattoo and John; brother-in-law Albert Abdoo; Ronald (Maria) Campbell: Maddison (Jeff) Terzo; Kathleen (Aaron) Myers: Elizabeth, Nicholas, Christoper; Paul (Denise) Campbell: Archer, Dexter; Michael (Gretchen) Baumer: Anna, Molly, Sarah, Katie; Erin (Gregg) Zimmermann: Zoe, Dylan; Bridget (Glenn) Baumer; and many friends, family, former colleagues and Red, his dog.

Ron was born in Bucyrus, Ohio on December 12, 1946. He grew up on a farm near Upper Sandusky, Ohio, where his family still farms. His curious mind was always tinkering and fixing and solving problems around the farm. He loved hickory nut cakes his mom used to make him from the trees on their land. Ron was a star on Upper Sandusky High School's bowling team. He was still showing his skills and carrying on the tradition of his father by bowling weekly on the lanes in New Mexico.

After graduating Upper Sandusky High School in 1965, Ron went to Radio and Electronics Technical School (RETS) in Detroit, Michigan which landed him a job as an engineer at General Electric in Central New York. It was there that he met the love of his life, Anne. Shortly after they married in that snowstorm on February 16, 1973, in Utica, NY; they moved to Maryland together. Ron had a long, distinguished career as an engineer at Comsat/Lockheed Martin and Viasat. Ron and Anne enjoyed lazy mornings with coffee and crosswords, hiking, traveling, bowling, and spending time with friends and family.

It had long been Ron's dream to live out west, and in retirement, he was able to make his dream a reality in Las Cruces, New Mexico where he had an extraordinary backdrop for endless projects to occupy and challenge his mind.

A private family remembrance to honor our greatly loved brother and uncle will be held at a later date. 'Flowers are a token of love' he said recently. In honor of Ron, shower those you love with flowers or in some other thoughtful way; show them how much they mean to you, as he did every day. His kind, generous, thoughtful, brave, and creative nature will be missed by all who knew him.
