Ronald Robert Borunda Sr., a devoted husband, father, and skilled mechanic, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025. Born on November 29, 1948, in San Miguel, New Mexico, Ronald was the beloved son of Emma and Ruben Borunda.
Ronald served in the Vietnam war and later dedicated his professional life to working as a heavy equipment mechanic for Raytheon, where his expertise and work ethic earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. He was known for his quiet strength, unwavering dedication to his family, and his ability to fix just about anything with his hands and heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Otilia Borunda; his daughter, Amy Borunda; his stepdaughter, Raquel Cuaron-Larmey; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, his son Ronald Borunda Jr., and his daughter Anna Orozco.
A funeral service honoring Ronald's life will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, located at 1240 S. Espina Street. The Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 10:00 A.M., followed by the celebration of mass at 10:30 A.M. Inurnment and rite of committal will take place at the Cathedral's columbarium.
Ronald will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who knew and loved him.
