Obituary

Robert "Bob" Martin Lucero

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" Martin Lucero on January 10, 2026.

Bob was born on May 30, 1969, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended Bernalillo High School and graduated from Las Cruces High School. Following high school, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served four years. His final tour of duty was aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72).

Bob never wanted to be the center of attention, yet his presence naturally brought smiles to those around him. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. His greatest joy in life was being called "Poppa" by Emma and Aric — moments he cherished deeply.

He is survived by Carmen (and family), the love of his life; his parents, Bea and Larry Jenkins; his siblings James, Monica, Vicki, Melissa, Denise, Erik, and Jana, along with their families.

He was preceded in death by his father, Orlando Lucero, and many extended family members.

A Praryer Vigil will be held at St. Albert the Great Newman Center on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m  to be followed his Funeral Mass.. Burial will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery in El Paso, Texas, at 2:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your local veterans home or shelter in Bob's memory.
