ROBERT LEE BARNETT, 92, of Las Cruces passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at his home. He was born June 10, 1932, in Carroll, Ohio to Evelyn Chapman and Carl Barnett. Robert had a bachelor's degree in mechanical Engineer and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a member of the VFW Post #1110 and the Elks Club. In 1979, Robert married the love of his life Brenda Corral and together they shared 44 wonderful years.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Barnett of Las Cruces; two sons, Doug Barnett (Julie), and Robert Barnett; three daughters, Linda Barnett, Susan Barnett (John) and Karen Portillo (Raymond); numerous grandchildren; his three sisters-in-law, Juanita Corral, Christina "Christi" Estrada (Manuel) and Kualy Corral; four brothers-in-law, Lucio, Hilario, Gerardo, and Isidro Corral; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry, and Glen Barnett; nephew, Elias Estrada; and two brothers-in-law, Miguel, and Francisco Corral.

Visitation will begin at 11 AM Monday, July 15, 2024, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road with the Funeral Service at 12 Noon.  Military honor will be accorded by the New Mexico Army National Guard Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League - El Perro Diablo Detachment.

At his request cremation will take place and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.
