Obituary

RITO VILLA, a lifelong resident of Vado, entered eternal life on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 78 years old.

Born April 27, 1948, to Victoriana Hernandez, Rito grew into a man defined by service, humility, and devotion to those he loved. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy, a chapter of his life he carried with quiet pride. After completing his military service, Rito went on to work for the United States Postal Service as a custodian, where he was known for his strong work ethic and steady presence.

In 2010, Rito married the love of his life, Jessica Holguin, and together they shared 16 beautiful years filled with companionship, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.

Those left to mourn his passing include his beloved wife, Jessica; his sons, Rito Villa Jr. and Isaac Rito Villa; his daughters, Nydia Villa and Perla Ramirez; his brother, Enrique Villa (Lucy); and his sister, Rosa Villa. He is also survived by four cherished grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will remember him with affection.

Rito was preceded in death by his mother, Victoriana; his brothers, Federico and Guadalupe Villa; and his sisters, Vicenta and Esperanza Villa, Maria Villa Ontiveros, and Francisca Villa Baca.

Visitation will begin at 10 AM Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at San Jose Catholic Church, 353 Josephine Street in La Mesa. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 10:30 AM, with the Funeral Mass celebrated immediately thereafter by Reverend Alonso Quiñonez, Celebrant.

Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the Marines Corps League El Perro Diablo Detachment.

At Rito's request, cremation will take place, and Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

Rito will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his loyalty to family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
