Rita M. Gomez, age 70, lifelong resident of Las Cruces, passed away February 3rd, 2024 at Mesilla Valley Hospice. She was born September 17th, 1953 in San Miguel, New Mexico, to Daniel and Carmen Marquez. Rita enjoyed working in the healthcare profession. She worked at Memorial Medical Hospital for many years where she made many friends. She will be remembered for her good sense of humor and exceptional conversational skills. Rita enjoyed listening to music, singing with her parakeets and dancing, even if it was in her wheelchair, there was no stopping her. Her biggest joy in life are her grandchildren, they always brought a smile to "Nanas" face!

Rita is survived by her son Gabriel (Rosie), her daughter Sandie; two brothers, Lupe (Connie) and Nati Marquez, sister Irene Morales. Seven grandchildren, Carlos, Daniel and Xiclalix Vasquez. Estrella S. Montoya, Renee Gabrielle, Ronnie and Gabriel  Gomez Jr, great grandson Eli Meza.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Carmen Marquez; four brothers, Danny, Lorenzo, Alfredo (twin brother)  David, sister Cecilia.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 16th, 2:00 pm - 5pm, at  Baca's Funeral Chapel of Las Cruces and Sunset Crematory. Cremation to take place at a later date. For online condolences, please visit www.bacasfuneralchapelslascruces.com
