It Is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Richard Wayne Jensen on May 30, 2025. He was born March 14, 1946, to Henrietta and James Jensen.

Rick was raised in Amarillo, Texas, and graduated with honors from Tascosa High school in 1964. He served in the Air Force from 1969 to 1973.  He earned a Bachelor of Engineering Management degree in 1968 from Southern Methodist University and his Master of science in 1975 from the University of Texas at Dallas. He moved to New Mexico in 1977 where he worked at Holloman AFB, as a government civilian engineer until his retirement in 2008. He married his "bride" Claudia, July 2, 1988.

Rick was always volunteering for a good cause. Some of the things he volunteered for was National Ski Patrol, Emergency Medical Services as a EMT for the state of New Mexico. For over 25 years he was involved in Lions Clubs International, first at High Rolls Lions Club and then at Los Leones de Mesilla.  Many may remember him in Lions, as a Past District Governor (PDG) and a Past Council chairman (PCC). He also volunteered as a golf marshal at Sonoma golf course and later at Red Hawk golf course. He also served on the board of directors for the Sun Country Amateur Golf Association (SCAGA). He will be missed by many.

The family left to mourn him includes his beloved wife Claudia Jensen, his brother Ron Jensen and his two nieces, Rachael and Tori Jensen.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henrietta and James and his stepmother Mary Jensen.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday July 11, 2025, at 04:00 P.M. at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. The inurnment will take place at a later date.
