REYES VALTIERRA JR. "BOBO" of Chamberino, NM entered eternal rest on Wednesday September 13, 2023.  Bobo was born on January 3, 1978, in El Paso, Texas to Reyes Valtierra Sr. and Martha Esparza Valtierra. Bobo lived all his life in the town that he cherished with all his heart, Chamberino. Bobo was a proud alumnus of Gadsden High School. He attended Dona Ana Community College where he earned an Associate degree. He was a member of San Luis Rey Church.

Bobo was an extraordinary human being. He was very bright and very well-read. Even with the difficulties that life put forth, Bobo always kept a happy and positive demeanor. Bobo had many friends and acquaintances across the Mesilla Valley and far beyond. It is truly amazing how many people have come up to us and disclosed instances where Bobo helped them in one way or another. He helped people by fixing their flat tires, cleaning their yards, hauling off their trash, giving people rides, etc. As to be expected from the way he lived his life, Bobo was an organ donor. His gifts of life helped 4 different people have a chance to continue living. His legacy lives on!

Bobo was a very skilled and hard worker. He loved to work with his hands. He never backed away from any physical task. He was especially proud of the granite and ceramic tile work that he completed in various homes. Reyes Jr. was employed by VistaScapes landscaping service. His preference was to work with his hands, but he was quite intelligent. He loved getting into discussions about history, politics, and conspiracy theories. He was quite vocal in these areas. Bobo loved sports! He played football and basketball in school. Bobo era "Puro Pantera". Gadsden was always dear to his heart. He continued playing softball until the very end. He was very proud to be a member of the 'Grizzlies' Softball club. He was a dedicated fan of the New York Giants and the Portland Trailblazers. Bobo spent several years as a volunteer baseball coach for numerous youth baseball teams. He truly loved helping kids. Bobo loved all types of music. He liked free style and rap music. He listened to classic rock and Spanish music as well. Most of all, Bobo loved his family. He was extremely proud of his son Angel and of all his nieces and nephew.

Bobo is survived by his parents, his son Angel Reyes Valtierra (Shaina), siblings Amiee (Saul), Chamberino, Oscar, Santa Fe NM, and Ana (Luigi), Anthony, TX. Nieces include Mónika Chávez Valtierra Acosta (Andrés), Leah Chávez, Ema Rose, and Mía Rose. His nephew Luigi Joaquin Rose. Bobo held Aaron Sanchez very close to his heart. He has numerous aunts, uncles and other close family members who love him dearly. Bobo was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jesus and Carmen Esparza; paternal grandparents Encarnacion and Paula Valtierra; aunt Anna Esparza; uncle Joaquin Valtierra; cousins Bernice Rios and Joseph Ortiz.

Funeral services will take place at San Luis Rey Catholic Church 206 San Luis in Chamberino. Visitation for Bobo will begin at 5 PM Sunday September 24, 2023. Holy rosary will follow at 6 PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday September 25, 2023, in the same church. Cremation and Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.

Serving as casket bearers will be Oscar Valtierra, Saul Chávez, Frank Montes, Angel Ortiz, James Esparza, Rene Rios, Aveeno Aguilar, and Luigi Rose.
