On January 08, 2024 Richard "Rene" Herrera passed away at Mountainview Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 22, 1981 in El Paso, TX to Irene Dominguez.

Rene Herrera will forever be remembered for his sense of humor. He was always joking around with everyone and could always bring out a smile. Even though Rene liked to joke he had a big heart and he cared deeply for all his family. He will be remembered by his family for being a big momma's boy and his big bear hugs. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to mourn him include his grandmother Rita Dominguez, wife Celina Ceniceros, son Oscar Maynez III of Denver, CO, two daughters Gemma Herrera and Riley Herrera both of Las Cruces. He also leaves two sisters Jessica Dominguez of Chamberino and Patricia Diaz (Alex) of Chamberino, and also his nieces and nephew whom he cared for dearly Zander (The little Huerito), Unique, Monique, Angelique, Anneliee and Alessia. He is also survived by multiple aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins and friends

He was preceded in death by his mother Irene Dominguez, sister Jenevieve Herrera and grandfather Ramon Dominguez.

A prayer vigil will be held on Friday February 2, 2024 at San Luis Rey Catholic Church, 206 San Luis Ave in Chamberino. Visitations will be at 09:00 A.M. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:00 A.M. and Celebration of the Mass will follow. Father Valentine Jankowski will be the Celebrant. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at the Chamberino Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers will include Oscar Maynez III, Alex Bertoldo, Gabriel Herrera, Paco Dominguez, Josh Dominguez, Joe Michael Salaiz, Angel Reyes, Mark Dominguez and Malissa Moreno.
