Rebecca L Martinez, 91, of Dona Ana, NM, passed away on January 29, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Rebecca was born in Basin, WY, on September 15, 1932, to Juan B Lopez and Elvira A Lopez. Rebecca was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker, and she cared for many of her grandchildren. Rebecca married the love of her life, Daniel C Martinez, Sr, and had four children together. Rebecca is survived by two daughters, Bertha L Martinez (Andy) and Beatrice M Benavidez (Lalo), one son, Daniel L Martinez Jr (Tomasa), and one son-in-law, Albert Archuleta. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, fifty-seven great-grandchildren, twenty great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, one sister, four sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, and nephews. Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L Martinez Sr, daughter Dolores L Archuleta; her parents, Juan B and Elvira A Lopez; her in-laws, Manuel C and Enedina C Martinez; one great-granddaughter, Naomi B Flores; one great-grandson, Dominic Vasquez, as well as numerous siblings.

A prayer vigil will be held on Friday February 23, 2024 at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, 5525 Cristo Rey Street. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 09:00 A.M. and the Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 09:30 A.M. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. Family and friends will celebrate at 11:00 A.M. at the Elks Lodge, 3000 Elks Drive.
