Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend, RAMONA "POCHI" PADILLA HERRERA, entered eternal life on Sunday, July 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 9, 1940, in Cd. Juarez Chihuahua, Mexico to Emilia Robles and Gaudencio Padilla. Ramona moved to La Union, NM with her family at a very early age, and then to Anthony, NM upon marriage to Roberto. "Pochi," as she was fondly known to family and friends was employed at the Anthony Water Works as a clerk until her retirement and was a very active member at St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Roberto "Robert" Herrera of Anthony; two sons, Bobby Herrera (Bea) of San Miguel; Frankie Herrera of El Paso, TX; two daughters, Patsy Cereceres (Tony) of Anthony and Sonya Herrera (Ben Etter) of El Paso, TX; two brothers, Manny Padilla (Julie) and Joe Padilla (Rose) all from El Paso, TX; two sisters, Emilia Limon (Ernesto) of Berino and Lily Maldonado (Pepe) of Canutillo, TX. Other survivors include 9 grandchildren 7 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. "Pochi" was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Luis Padilla and his wife, Gloria.
Visitation for Mrs. Herrera will begin at 10 AM Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 224 Lincoln Street in Anthony with the Prayer Vigil at 10:30AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the Anthony Community Cemetery, 750 Acosta Road where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.
Serving as casket bearers will be Patrick Cereceres, Bobby Brooke Herrera, Joaquin Alvarado, Tony Herrera, Luis Porras, and Joshua Padilla. Honorary bearers are Dante Johani Herrera and David Josiah Arias.
