PETRA ROSALES SALAS, age 82, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, surrounded by the love and presence of her devoted family.

Born in Jauja, Durango, Mexico, Petra entered the world on April 10, 1943, to Agustina Michel and Miguel Rosales. Her life was a testament to strength, grace, and unwavering love. In 1963, she married her soulmate, Felix E. Salas, and together they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, resilience, and deep family bonds.

Petra was the proud mother of five children: her son Ramiro "Juny" Salas, and her daughters Lydia Lopez, Maria R. Salas, Ruth Juarez, and Gracie Sepulveda (Steve). Her legacy continues through her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

She is also survived by her beloved siblings: brothers Domingo Rosales (Connie) and Saul Rosales; and sisters Lucy Acosta (Oscar), Yolanda Hobbs, and Ruth Perkins. Petra's extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her warmth, wisdom, and generous spirit. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, two sisters, Elvira Gonzalez and Isabel Rosales; a brother, Onecimo Rosales and a grandson, Joey Juarez.

Petra's life was rich in love, family, and strength. She will be remembered for her nurturing heart, her deep faith, and the way she made everyone feel at home in her presence.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. No public services are scheduled currently. A private inurnment ceremony will be held at a later date to honor her life and legacy.

Her family invites those who knew and loved Petra to remember her in their own special way—through shared stories, quiet reflection, or acts of kindness that echo her spirit.
