Petra Flores entered eternal rest and went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 24, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Socorro Flores.

Petra was preceded in death by her husband, Socorro Flores; her parents, Julio Marmolejo and Natividad Guzman Marmolejo; her brothers, Pedro Marmolejo, Ildefonso Marmolejo; and her sister, Teodosa Soto.

She is survived by her loving children, Veronica Flores, Rene Flores (Theresa), and Ramon Flores; her cherished granddaughter, Taylor Flores; and her sisters, Juana Trujillo, Cecilia Guerrero, and Lourdes Esparza, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who loved her deeply.

Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord. Mathew 25:21

Petra was a woman of deep faith whose love for God, church, and her family guided the way she lived her life. Her greatest joy came from caring for the people she loved. She especially treasured time spent cooking meals for family gatherings, visiting and laughing with her family, and her friends. Creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and love. To know Petra was to know Joy, kindness, generosity, and the feeling of always being welcomed at her table. She found happiness in taking care of others, sharing meals, and bringing her family together, creating memories that will forever be cherished.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hilda Olivas, Dr. Ann Mercer and Mesilla Valley Hospice for their compassionate care and support.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Baca's Funeral Chapels. Burial will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Serving as Casket Bearers will be Ramon Flores, Rene Flores, Francisco Olivas, Nicko Miramontes, Pedro Luis Marmolejo, Ruben Trujillo.
