Oswaldo Angel Polanco, 94, of Las Cruces, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, with his family by his side.  He was born on April 17, 1931, in Las Cruces, Oswaldo lived a full and hardworking life defined by love, laughter, and deep devotion to his family.

Oswaldo proudly served in the United States Air Force before beginning a long and fulfilling career as a heavy equipment mechanic and inspector at White Sands Missile Range, where he built lifelong friendships and memories. Even in retirement, he enjoyed recalling stories from his days at work, always quick with a smile, a joke, or a fond reminiscence.

Known for his warm heart, Oswaldo was a loving husband and father who found joy in simple pleasures—listening to music, singing along while thinking of his beloved Virginia, tending to his backyard, and caring for his many animals. His passion for mechanics, woodworking, and sports reflected his hands-on spirit and boundless curiosity.

He is survived by his daughter Diane Polanco and son Oswaldo Polanco Jr. (Anna). Also surviving him is his granddaughter, Chloe Polanco. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Polanco, parents Amado and Benigna Polanco's siblings, Ermelinda Silva, Rodolfo Polanco, Rogelio Polanco, and Amado Polanco Jr.

A service celebrating Oswaldo's life will be held on October 21, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Baca's Chapels, 300 East Boutz Road. Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
