It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of 37 year old Omi Gutierrez of Las Cruces, NM. He entered eternal life on May 24, 2024. He was born on February 2, 1987 in Sun Valley, CA to Nyron Hoisington Byrd and Paz Gutierrez.

Omi was a very loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin. He enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He loved being outdoors exercising, barbequing, laughing, making people laugh and putting a smile on people's face. He was loving caring and very giving. Omi had a heart of gold. He learned to play the guitar and enjoyed gathering around playing and singing for his family. He loved listening to music to escape this world. He will be truly missed and is always in our hearts.

Those left to mourn him include his father Paz Gutierrez, his beloved fiancé Sandra Perez, son Julian Gutierrez, daughter Mikayla Gutierrez and three sisters Amia Gutierrez, Denise Smith and Nyla Hoisington, brother Emilio Gonzalez. and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother Nyron Hoisington Byrd, brother Joshua Gutierrez, grandparents Julian and Hortencia Gutierrez, uncles Guillermo Gutierrez, Hector Gutierrez, Isaac Gutierrez, aunt Hortencia Valenzuela, cousins Isaac Jr, Alejandro, Luciano and Julian and Jacob Gutierrez.

Serving as casket bearers include Anthony Gomez, Alex Gutierrez, Joel Gutierrez, Phillip Gutierrez, Ramnses Garcia and Jesus Perez. Honorary casket bearers include Mikayla Gutierrez, Paz Gutierrez, Aaron Gutierrez, Antonio Perez, and Ernie Garcia Jr.

A vigil will be held on Thursday June 20, 2024 at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Visitations will begin at 05:00 P.M. and the vigil will begin at 06:00 P.M. The Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M on Friday June 21, 2024 at Living Waters Assembly of God, 200 S. Espina Street. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue.
