OLGA GONZALEZ SEGURA, 88 years young of Mesquite, NM, was born November 17, 1935, in Torreon, MX to Alejandrina Velazquez and Manuel Gonzalez. Olga, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, and is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, and sisters, loving husband of 70 years, Silvestre Segura and their beloved son, Jose Segura. Olga's life was a testament to love, laughter, and cherished moments with family and friends. Those left to carry on her legacy are 4 daughters; Leticia Chavira (Robert), Bertha Segura, Guadalupe Martinez (Raul), and Lourdes Haycraft (Shannon); 2 sons; George Segura (Yolanda), and Jaime Segura; a daughter-in-law, Ofelia Segura. Other survivors include 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Olga's life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family. Her warmth and love filled every corner of her home, where she spent countless hours in the kitchen, delighting her loved ones with her culinary creations. Her meals, infused with love and tradition, were always a source of joy and comfort for those gathered around her table. Beyond her culinary talents, Olga was a dedicated traveler who found joy in exploring new places. Yet, her greatest adventure was the journey of motherhood and grand motherhood. She poured her heart into nurturing her children and grandchildren, ensuring they were always surrounded by her love and wisdom. Olga's infectious laughter and quick wit brightened the lives of all who knew her. She had a knack for finding humor in every situation and could light up a room with her smile. Her love for life was contagious, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.

One of Olga's greatest pleasures in life was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She delighted in creating cherished memories with them, whether it was through outings to parks, movies, or simply sharing stories over a cup of coffee and some pan dulce. Her love for her grandchildren knew no bounds, and her presence in their lives will be deeply missed.

Though Olga may have left this world, her love, laughter, and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Visitation will begin at 6 PM Monday, April 8, 2024, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road with the Prayer Vigil at 7 PM.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 19217 S. Highway 28 in San Miguel. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue where she will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband and son.

Serving as casket bearers will be Rosendo Cota, Alex and Robert Segura, Marcos Guzman, Christopher Chavira, and Santiago Segura. Honorary bearers will be Sebastian and Steven Segura, Daniel Guzman, Jaime Acosta, and Armando Ortiz.
