It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of 69 year old Ofelia de Martinez Lopez on July 2, 2024. She was born April 2, 1955 in Durango, Durango, MX to Reymunda and Alterion Martinez.

Ofelia was a great mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to all her children. She was loved by all the children she helped raise or took care of around the neighborhood. Everybody loved her cooking and her beautiful sense of humor. Her passion to help everybody will be missed.

"Do not weep, my children, I am not going very far, I shall see you from there, you will only have to look at night, and you will see me smile."

Those left to mourn her include her son Juan Lopez, daughters Claudia Dominguez and Marizela de Leon.

She was preceded in death by her parents Reymunda and Alterion.

A prayer vigil will be held on Friday August 2, 2024 at St Anthony's Catholic Church, 324 Lincoln Street. Visitations will begin at 09:00 A.M. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 10:00 A.M. and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Interment and Rite of Committal will conclude at the Anthony Community Cemetery, N 4thStreet and Acosta Road. Celebration of life will be held at the VFW in Anthony NM 88021.
