NICOLAS "MANUEL" MACIAS

October 20, 1939- December 23, 2023

It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to our beloved Nicolas Macias, 84 of San Miguel, New Mexico. Nicolas "Manuel" was called to join his Lord on Friday, December 22, 2023. Nicolas was born to his mother Luisa Macias on October 20, 1939, in Mexico. He was a son, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Nicolas came to the United States and worked at Stahmann Farms, HANS and later as a custodian for Gadsden Independent Schools. He played the guitar in the choir for the San Miguel Catholic Church in which he was a devoted member. He was a devoted catholic follower of God and had faith that he would join his Lord when it was time. He loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Nicolas is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Macias of San Miguel, NM; his daughter, Martina Macias of San Miguel, NM; his stepson, Ray Vasquez of Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, MX; his stepdaughter, Rosa Vasquez-Rosales, (Ray Rosales) of Las Cruces, NM; his grandchildren, Mary, Marcos, and Cecilia Marquez and number of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Luisa Macias; brother, Pedro Rios; sister, Socorro Macias, and his stepchildren.

Visitation for Nicolas will begin at 9:30 AM Friday, January 19, 2024, at the San Miguel Catholic Church, 19217 NM Highway -28 in San Miguel. The Prayer Vigil will be at 10 AM with the Funeral Mass to follow thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at the San Miguel Cemetery where he will be laid to rest in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Marcos Marquez, Duane Vasquez, Rey Vasquez, Jerry Saldivar, Luis Rios, Pete Rios, Bobby Rios, and Jaime Vasquez Jr.
