Obituary

Naomi Faith Lewis Whelan, age 25, of Las Cruces, entered eternal life on September 6, 2023. She was born on January 5, 1998 in El Paso, TX to Johnnie Whelan and David Lewis.

Naomi was a mother with a true mothering gift. Naomi's gift was evident to all who knew her from the time she brought forth her two children Lilyana and Anthony into this earth and they began to breathe Gods air, the very gift of life.

From the first sounds they made her motherly ears and instinct kicked into gear and her special mothering gift was clearly operating at full capacity.

Naomi's acute attentiveness to each of her children's cry, or facial expression and every body movement naturally triggered her gift and with great care and love she attended to their every need.

Today her kids Lily and Anthony both are strong, intelligent , sensitive and currently each one is at the top of their class in school.  Naomi was very grateful to the Lord for gracing them both with His blessings.

Naomi was a prayerful person from a very young age and always prayed for her mother Johnnie Ray during her years in military service.

WE the FAMILY and FRIENDS of Naomi truly know today regardless of the present grief of her moving to heaven at this present time that we will all have more of a wonderful future with her than we could ever have had past with her.

Naomi Loved her family and friends and would always endeavor to settle conflicts or difficult situations as quickly as possible.

She now "Walks on Streets of Gold" and is cheering  us all on from the heavenly atmosphere of heaven itself.

We all will miss her and continue to love her with the confidence and assurance that the Future is Still Very Very BRIGHT!

Those left to carry on her memory include her children Anthony Whelan and Lilyana Whelan, her parents David Lewis and Johnnie Whelan, brothers Hayden, Santana and Elias, sisters Emalyan, and Grace. She also leaves her godparents Jeff and Maria Sutton, great grandmother Luisa Whelan, grandmother Margaret Whelan, aunts and uncles Matthew and Amir Whelan, Luther and Eva Whelan, Andrea Maestas, Brian Maestas, aunt Shirley Morales and also many cousins and friends.
