Nancy V. Herrera, age 56, of Las Cruces, NM, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born on September 27, 1968, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and throughout her life, she embodied grace, kindness, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. Nancy was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother and friend whose warmth and compassion touched everyone she met.

She is survived by her father, Arturo Vega; her husband, Matthew Herrera; her children, Jordan Herrera, Neveah Herrera, and Gabriella Herrera; her grandchildren, Aaron, Troy, and Eden; her sister, Mary Lou Rodriguez, and her husband, Michael Rodriguez; her brothers, Arthur Lucero and his partner, Angela; Matthew Valenzuela; and Gene Valenzuela and his wife, Susan; her many cherished nieces and nephews; and numerous other beloved family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Lucero; her brothers, Rudy "Chava" Lucero, William Lucero, and Michael Lucero; her nephew, Johnny Ray Solis; and others who now welcome her into eternal rest.

Nancy will be remembered most for her gentle spirit, her love of family, and her unwavering faith. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those she touched with her kindness and compassion.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 am at Baca's funeral home, 300 E Boutz Rd, Las Cruces, NM 88005. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved mother, Genevieve.
