NANCY CHAVEZ, 85, entered eternal life on Friday, August 11, 2023.  She was born January 10, 1938, and is survived by her sons Lawrence Chavez (Kim), Ray Chavez (Sonya), daughter-in-law Ida Chavez, grandchildren, Catrina (Julio), Eric, Christina, Joseph, Andrea, and Joshua.  She is also survived by her siblings Lucy, Ronald, Connie, Mike, Gary, Louise, Dolores, Virginia, Elizabeth, Mark, their spouses and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her mother who passed when she was a child, Beatrice Sullivan, her parents Andy Sr. and Veronica Sullivan, husband, Robert H. Chavez; son Robert A. Chavez; grandson Michael J. Chavez; her brothers, Andrew "Sonny" Sullivan Jr., Jerry Sullivan, and Calvin Cryer, brother-in-law. Nancy was a very spiritual person and was a member of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  She worked for the Department of Labor and enjoyed her position immensely.  Nancy was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandma, great-grandma, and friend. Nancy was an avid gardener and outdoors woman.  She loved her home in Monticello and was always ready to take a ride up the canyon.  She most enjoyed getting together with family to celebrate Thanksgiving or a family reunion.   Nancy was funny and could deliver a one liner that would make your belly laugh; the kind of joke that would make you chuckle over and over for years to come. She always welcomed everyone with open arms, hugs, and food. Her love, kindness, joy, and care will remain in our hearts forever. Visitation will begin at 11 AM Monday, August 21, 2023, at The Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 1240 S. Espina Street where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 11:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. Cremation will follow and Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date. Serving as casket bearers will be Dominic Chavez, Eric Chavez, Julio Chavez, Darwin Sullivan, Jeff Sullivan, and Gary Sullivan.   Service arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapel of Las Cruces and Sunset Crematory, 300 E.
