MR. MONICO M. GALLEGOS, age 93, of Garfield passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born May 4, 1931, in Julimes, Chihuahua Mexico to Lazara Matinez and Guadalupe Gallegos. He was employed in construction and was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church.

Survivors include one son, Manuel Gallegos (Frances) of Albuquerque; five daughters, Olivia Davila (Ernie) of Las Cruces, Blanca Barrera (Victor) of Garfield, Mary Esther Covarrubias (Alfonso) of El Paso, TX, Antonia Blaettner (Harold) of Pittsburg, PA., and Patricia Gallegos of Corpus Christi, TX., Other survivors include 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Gallegos was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Guadalupe Pando Gallegos on March 13, 2017; granddaughter, Isabella Blaettner; sister, Carmen Ontiveros, and a brother Jesus Manuel Mendoza.

Visitation for Mr. Gallegos will begin at 9 AM Tuesday, June 4, 2024, in San Isidro Catholic Church, 2003 Loma Parda in Garfield with the Prayer Vigil at 10 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 with the Reverend Ivan Torres, Celebrant. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in the Garfield Cemetery where he will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be his family.
