Mike Molinar, a man known for his vibrant spirit, deep love of family, and unwavering loyalty to those he held dear, passed away peacefully in Las Cruces, New Mexico on August 3, 2025. He was born on August 28, 1952, in Loving, NM, and was the cherished youngest son of Ysidro and Emeteria Molinar.
Mike's zest for life was reflected in his passions – he was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan who never missed a game. He relished family poker nights, enjoyed camaraderie on the golf course and embraced the thrill of a casino visit. He lived with humor, heart and a love for good stories and good company.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Esther Gamboa, his brother Ysidro 'Junny' Molinar Jr., his sister Emelda Lucero, two stepchildren, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins – all of whom he loved deeply and who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, whose memory he carried with him every day.
Mike will be remembered for his adventurous spirit and the stories he collected and shared along the way. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A Rosary will be held in his honor at Bacas Funeral Chapel, located at 300 E. Boutz Road, on Friday, August 15, at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Mike's life and legacy.
