It is with deep sadness and very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and dear friend, MIGUEL "MIKE" CHAVEZ, lifelong resident of Las Cruces on Monday, February 3, 2025, at the age of 56. "Mike," as he was known to everyone was born October 13, 1968, to Micaela Calzada and Rigoberto Chavez. He was employed as a manager at the Walgreens on El Paseo Road before being transferred to the Rinconada location.

Mike was a gentle, kindhearted, caring and helpful person; his great personality, big smile and laughter will be missed by all who knew him.

Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife, Veronica Gonzalez Chavez; two beautiful children; son, Michael Chavez (Daisy) all from Las Cruces; Sarah Alvarado (Matthew) from White Sands; brother, Arturo Chavez of Doña Ana. Other survivors included 3 grandchildren, David Torres, Alexa Chavez and Jackson Alvarado and a host of friends.

At his request cremation has taken place and Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Our Lady of Purification Catholic Church, 5525 Cristo Rey in Doña Ana with the Memorial Mass to be celebrated thereafter with the Reverend Martin Cordero, Celebrant. Inurnment of cremains will follow at the Doña Ana Cemetery.
