MELISSA MARIE BARELA-SOLORZANO, age 54, lifelong resident of Las Cruces entered eternal life on Wednesday, May 8, 2024. She was born March 21, 1970, to Charlene Giron and Ambrosio T. Barela Sr. Melissa was a member of the Catholic Church.

Those life to mourn her passing include, three daughters, Alexandria Renteria (Juan) of La Mesa, Elizabeth Solorzano (Adrian), and Katherine Barela (Jose) all of Las Cruces; her mother, Charlene Edie; father, Ambrosio Barela Sr., brother, Ambrosio Barela Jr. (Karla) and two half-brothers, Pete, and Juan Diego Barela; two sisters, Laura Villa (Tudy) and Jessica Enriquez (Richard); her brother-in-law, George Solorzano (Luisa) all also of Las Cruces. Other survivors include 11 grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Melissa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Javier Solorzano on September 7, 2022.

Visitation will begin at 6 PM Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. Cremation will follow, and Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
