It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Maxine Grace Reynolds Frietze, 93, on July 2, 2024.

Maxine was born on January 5, 1931, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Clarence Reynolds and Bessie Knolton Reynolds. Maxine moved to Las Cruces with her parents at the early age of 7.  Maxine married Ricardo G. Frietze, from Mesilla, NM, in 1954 and together they raised 5 Children, John, Patsy, Richard, David, and Edward.  Maxine attended Gadsden High School and graduated from Mayfield High School and worked at Leggs for 24 years and then retired and took care of her grandchildren, whom she adored.  Maxine was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Maxine loved Las Cruces and Mesilla and her Mexican food, her Pepsi's and chocolate candy.

Maxine was preceded in death by her former husband, Ricardo G. Frietze and her sister, Imogine Gonzales, brother, Ernest (Junior) Reynolds, her mother and father, Clarence Reynolds and mother, Bessie Knolton Reynolds, and Mother-in-law Cipriana G. Frietze and Father-in-Law, Norberto Frietze, and numerous aunts and uncles and brothers-in-laws, Norberto Jr., and Nick Frietze and her beloved dogs Pippen, Sandy, Blackie and her Little Patches. Maxine is survived by her brother, Harry Reynolds, from Oklahoma, sons, John (Esther), Richard (Anita), David, Edward (Josie) and daughter Patsy, all from Las Cruces, NM. She is also survived by her Grand Children, Aaron Baca, Richard Frietze, Jr., Nicole Frietze, Brittney Frietze, Giovanni Frietze and, and David Pena, and great grandson, Xavier Frietze, all from Las Cruces and Lyndsey Frietze, of Renton Washington, and her precious dog Zorra.

At her request cremation has taken place and there will be a Memorial Mass on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 11:00am at the Basilica of San Albino, 2280 Calle Principal in Mesilla, NM followed by a reception at the Yanez Hall across from the Basilica of San Albino. A private Inurnment of her cremains will be at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
