It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, MARY LOU NARVAEZ, on April 21, 2026, in Rio Rancho, NM. She was surrounded by the love of her family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and devotion.

Mary Lou was born December 13, 1944, in Las Cruces, NM. She is preceded in death by her parents, Margarito and Emma (Emo) Frausto and her sister Martha Limas.

She is survived by her brother, Margarito (Jr.) Frausto and his wife, Estella, and by her sister, Maurice Hernandez and her husband, Michael. Other survivors include her sons Frank Narvaez and Patrick Narvaez and his wife, Kelly, her niece Patricia Limas Clark and her husband, Martin, and her nephew Javier Limas and his wife, Theresa. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren and several Godchildren.

Mary Lou lived a beautiful, full life rooted in love, strength, resilience, grace and devotion to her family. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Education at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She was a devout member of the Roman Catholic Church, and a member of San Felipe de Neri Church in Albuquerque, where she taught school for several years. She became a member of the St. Anthony Secular Franciscan Order in December of 2012. She was a member of Tortugas Pueblo ("La Corporacion"), where she danced as a Bailadora for several years, was a co-chairperson for one of the fundraising enchilada dinners and served as a Mayordoma.

Mary Lou was a hard worker from a very young age learning the tools of various trades and applying them to help provide for her family. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and organizing celebrations and events for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her loved ones and all who knew her. Her memory is a keepsake from which we will never part.

Visitation for Ms. Narvaez will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM Friday, May 8, 2026, at The Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas with the Funeral Mass to follow immediately thereafter with the Reverend Valentine Jankowski, Celebrant.  A graveside service will take place at 9AM Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Avenue where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be PJ Narvaez, Martin Clark, Felipe Nevarez, Al Serna, Lorenzo Ireland, and Enrique Lujan. Honorary bearers will be Antonio Narvaez and Peyton An.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to The St Anthony Fraternity of Secular Franciscans in Albuquerque, New Mexico or Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine & Parish, in honor of "Mary Lou Narvaez".
