It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Marvin Morris (Jones) 59 who passed away peacefully in his home Friday March 21,2025. He was born July 22, 1965, to the union of Mr. Sylvester and Cleo Jones and a proud graduate of Mayfield High School. Marvin's life was a testament to the love and legacy of his family and he will be tremendously missed at his absence from earth's realm by those who knew him. Morris, worked as a cook for many years at WSMR NCO club and decided he'd hang his hat up as a cook and found his new passion as professional building maintenance worker where he took pride in his labour. Marvin enjoyed the simple things in life like playing ball, watching football and spending time doing what he found pleasurable. Marvin was kind and easy going, capturing the hearts of those he met.
He is survived by his Father Sylvester Jones; his cherished daughters, Shatwa Morris, Tamara Morris and Sholanda Robison, his beloved son, Marvin Morris jr., his siblings, Alford Morris (Karla), Leo Morris,(Danni) Carrie Jones - Haywood (Jonathan) Darnell Lang, Terrence Hastings, a host of aunts uncles, cousins nieces, nephews and his only grandson Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his Mother Cleo Bell-Jones, Maternal Grandmother Carrie Bell, Fraternal Grandfather Sylvester Jones and Grandma Thelma Grimes, Uncles Joseph Bell and Jerry Bell, Aunt Rita and Frances Bell, cousin Clev and Roderick Jones and a niece Alexis Morris.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Baca's Funeral Chapel, located at 300 E. Boutz Road, Las Cruces and celebration of life will follow Saturday April 12 at 12pm at the Life Center Ministries 8424 N. Highway 478 Vado NM Pastor Quenton Rudison & Pastor Jonathan Valley Grove Christian Faith will be officiating Celebration. All touched by Marvin's life are invited to join his family in remembrance of him.
