Marjorie DeLoris Romney (née Foster)

Marjorie DeLoris Romney (Mimi) was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025 in Las Cruces, New Mexico at the age of 95. Marjorie was born on February 2, 1930 in Pendleton, Oregon and  was the daughter of Hazel Lavelle Foster and Hugh Foster.

As a child, Marjorie enjoyed riding Shetland ponies, tap dancing, and spending time with her grandfather at the courthouse. She later attended New Mexico State University where she was active in Chi Omega, which became a large part of her college life.  She went on to graduate with a degree in journalism.  Also while attending NMSU, she met her loving husband Charles Burrell Romney and went on to live a life full of love, creativity and devotion to her family in Las Cruces, NM.

Marjorie was married to Charles (Chuck), who preceded her in death along with their son, Kevin and son-in-law, Jim. Together, they had a beautiful family. She is survived by their children: Shelly Sullivan (Carl), daughter-in-law (Barbie), Stephanie Meadows, Kerry Romney (Tawna). Marjorie was a proud grandmother to Shanna (Steve), Sheri (Brandon), Staci (Michael), Stephanie (Greg), Kelly (Mark), Christy (Kevin),  Chad (Debra), Genna, Kristen (Nathaniel) and a great-grandmother to Kayla (Brandon), Austin (Sean), Alyssa, Ashleigh, Adalyn, Talen, Emmy, Paisley, Jaxson, Angela, Jessica (Darrell), Kenny (Francesca), Tyler (Amanda), Nolan (Kayla), McKenna, Connor, Caitlin, Chris (Sarah), Corey, Kylie, Brooklyn, Avery and Wesley. She was also blessed with great-great-grandchildren: Ariana, Remi, Ashlynn, Hunter, Ayden, Oaklee, Olivia, Bentley, and Brynlie (to be born later this month).

Throughout her life, Marjorie was dedicated to her family and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, always creating a loving home for her children by cooking home cooked meals and being present in their lives.  She had a deep passion for genealogy, crafting, painting, and playing the piano. Her love for animals and various crafts brought joy to her life and those around her.

Marjorie was known for her infectious giggles and smiles, her love of being with family, and her unwavering belief that family was the most important thing in the world. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Marjorie was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

A graveside service to celebrate Marjorie's life will be held on February 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Masonic Cemetery. The family invites all to attend and share in honoring her memory where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Charles Burrell Romney.

Marjorie will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her spirit and love will forever remain in their hearts
