Maria M. Ramirez, 86, of Las Cruces, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Maria was born June 12, 1937, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Jesus Guzman and Delfina Guzman. Maria was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Baca, Jimmy Guzman, Joe Guzman, Mike J. Guzman and godson Ron Johnson.
Previously Maria was a member of the Eastside Community Center senior programs where she was employed as a kitchen aid for many years up until her retirement.  Upon her retirement, Maria continued to enjoy many days at Eastside Community Center in the company of her many close friends.
Maria was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She is survived by her children, Sylvia Ramirez (John), Michael Ramirez (Sylvia), Anthony Ramirez (Michelle) and Annette Ramirez, grandchildren Jerrod Butler (Kim), Jessica Garcia (Crystal), Alyssa Nguyen (Michael), Frank Snyder, Maribel Ramirez, Michael Ramirez, Melissa Ramirez (Chris), Erika Ramirez, Alyssa Ramirez and Christopher Ramirez, great-grandchildren DeVon Butler, Ashlynn Archer, Jaden Butler, Taryn Butler, Averi Carrasco, K'senia Carrasco with one great grandchildren due to be born in June of 2024, great-great granddaughter Laura Meadow Ann Muro, sisters Josie Silva and Dolores Lobato, grand puppy Tigger, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

Visitation for Maria will begin at 5pm, Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road.  A prayer vigil will follow at 6pm. A funeral service will be held at 10am, on Friday, December 29, 2023,  at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Father Theo officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery, 760 S. Compress Road where she will be laid to rest in a family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be Jerrod Butler, Jaden Butler, Jessica Garcia, Brett Newcomer, David Guzman and Eli Guzman.

The family would like to thank Doctors Geoffrey Kunz and Dana Alexander Booth of The Heart Hospital of Lovelace in Albuquerque, ICU staff at Memorial Medical Center, Americas Best Care Incorporated, and caregivers Claudia Holguin and Alliyah Dubois.
