MARIA ELENA PEREZ DE CALZADA, age 78, of El Paso, Texas, entered eternal life on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 8, 1947, in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, to Catalina Mascorro and Nicolas Perez.

Maria Elena was a devoted mother, a loving homemaker, and a woman whose quiet strength and unwavering dedication shaped the lives of all who knew her. Her kindness, faith, and gentle spirit were the foundation of her family, and her presence will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her two daughters, Myrna Calzada and Alma Rosa Villafuerte, both of El Paso, TX. She is also survived by her brothers, Javier Perez of Las Cruces and Jose Luis Perez (Maria) of Phoenix, AZ., and her sisters, Aurelia Moreno of Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, Maria de Lourdes Perez, Evangelina Perez, and Maria Luisa Vargas, all from Las Cruces. Maria Elena leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will forever cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Pedro Perez.

Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 3 PM, Friday, February 27, 2026, at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road followed by the Liturgy of the Word. Inurnment of cremains will be held at a later date.

Maria Elena's legacy of love, devotion, and family unity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in her life.
