With deep love and reverence, the family of MARIA GUADALUPE ORTIZ, age 69, of Las Cruces, announces her peaceful passing into eternal life on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Memorial Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born October 10, 1956, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Ofelia Mendoza and Francisco Ortiz, Maria lived a life of devotion, compassion, and service. A loving caregiver and faithful member of the Roman Catholic Church, she embodied kindness and selflessness, touching the lives of all who knew her.

Maria is survived by her three sisters, Delia O. Peña, Maria Isabel Ortiz, and Rita Peña; and five brothers, Roberto Ortiz, Marcos Ortiz, Gustavo Ortiz, Eduardo Ortiz, and Jesus Francisco Ortiz. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her sister, Maria Dolores Ochoa.

Visitation for Maria will begin at 9:30 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3600 Parroquia Street in Tortugas. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 10 AM, with the Funeral Mass immediately, thereafter, celebrated by Reverend Valentine Jankowski. The Rite of Committal and Interment will take place at Tortugas Cemetery, where Maria will be laid to rest in the family plot.

Serving as casket bearers will be her family.

Maria's life was a testament to faith, family, and love. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who were blessed to know her.
